Rattlesnakes can vibrate their tails with a frequency of 90 cycles per second. Try wiggling your index finger up and down as fast as you can for a minute- I only managed about 3 cycles per second and my finger muscles weren't very happy about it. Unsurprisingly, rattlesnake tail muscles are specially adapted to be able to contract repeatedly over long periods of time without tiring.
